Nice enjoyable weekend before that stupid snow. It's covered the leaves the town hadn't picked up yet. I miss having a wooded lot nearby.

It is what you make it, what you decide to be.

Blaming your actions or attitudes on outside circumstances or other people is unproductive and damaging to yourself.

First person to use the terms "real feel" or "wind chill" gets a throat punch.

Stop it with the made up, arbitrary, fake weather news.

Everything but the saga films from Disney so far have been good. Disney's big mistake was keeping Kathleen Kennedy. Lucas' supposed original outlines for the sequel trilogy were stupid too, some crap about delving into the microbiological world with the midichlorian crap again, and let's not forget Jar Jar Binks and the entirety of Attack of the Clones were entirely ol' George's doing, pre Disney.

I'm pretty much hooked after the first episode of Mando.
Lucas was probably the worst writer to ever write a successful film.

Disney can take their movies and stuff them where the sun doesn't shine, all of them. I won't pay for their service, I won't go to their movies. MAYBE if someday they quit trying to social engineer people with their movies and come up with original ideas, I might watch their stuff again.

Wind Chill is real, it does not make it feel colder. It speeds the evaporation of water and will cause freezer burn/frost bite on your skin.

So, if it is 2°, dress for 2° and protect yourself from the wind.

Yes, but how wind chill is based upon bare skin. It is totally arbitrary because it is dependent upon what clothing a person is wearing and how that person reacts to cold. Any time we are taking an objectively measurable temperature and adjusting it, it become subjective.

...but that's not the point anyway- it's eyes on screens.

My point is- dress like it's 11 degrees with wind and don't let the weathermen make an emergency out of everything. It's like how "breaking news" used to be reserved for important stories that are, y'know, breaking. Now it's used for almost everyone to manipulate viewers into not changing channels. Same thing.

Yeah, like there is a severe winter weather warning for LaPorte County because there might be 4" of snow and temps below 10. Isn't that just winter?

Work for a living, and wind chill might not seem so made up.
Yes, it is calculated for bare skin.
But, it will cool you in a coat faster than if there was no wind.
the formula for calculating heat transfer includes a heat transfer coefficient (different materials transfer at different speeds), and mass flow rate.

So if it is 32 degrees out, with a wind chill of 0 degrees..
Your body will not get colder than 32 degrees.
Your body will cool down as if it is cooler than 32 degrees, closer to as if it was 0 degrees.

I think he's a bad director more than a bad writer. He gets carried away. I think it's no coincidence that the two best Star Wars movies are ESB and RotJ. He wrote them both and other people directed them. The only reason ANH wasn't a disaster is because he didn't have the budget or the clout at the time so he had to play it safe.

And I'm calling it now, since Yoda's species does not yet have a name, they're gonna turn out to be the "Whills" we've heard so little about.
