A torch... hum... how would that work?

In any case jedi first tried a 25" breaker bar. No good.
Added a 36" pipe to the breaker bar and still no go.
Went and got a battery power impact wrench and still no go. The socket actually made a bigger mess of the lugnut.

Bought a bolt extractor set and used the impact wrench again. Still no go but the nut now had new "grooves" so tried again. On the 5th try it finally came out!!!

Ended up using the impact wrench to undo all the other nuts.
Then used a torque wrench to set them proper.
The van is now trip ready.

    n jedi is exhausted.

If you were to heat up the lug nut it will expand and then you can remove it with your fingers.

In other news heating season has officially begun.

Does anyone know of the place in Michigan that has a range and a lounge afterwards? It was brought up at the brew fest again and I can get some guys motivated if I can get a site or number. I'm drawing a blank on the range.

Chilly day at the pumpkin patch. All that rain definitely affected that crop. Sizes were down and a lot of subpar pumpkins with squishy spots. We had fun and accomplished our mission.

My daughter went on a killing rampage when one of my outdoor spiders spun its web on her car.

I had 3 really nice ones on my front deck, 1 orb weaver and two corn spiders.

Rode the motorcycles a bit today. It was windy, cool and generally not a great day to ride but we did anyway.

Spent yesterday in North Chiraq (Evanston at Northwestern Univ) for a large regional fencing competition. One of my high school kids won 3rd in Men's epee. I was honored when his father asked me to be in a photo with his son and his award. Had a few other kids compete yesterday and today. Most competitors were college aged so my kids generally were underdogs. A good friend of mine won silver in the Div 1a saber competition and was the top fencer to finish from the USA. Got some gifts from a friendly fencing club that likes me and met with some college coaches that want to recruit some of my kids.

    Overall a good weekend!

I don't mind spiders. Haven't seen any really big ones in the house, though. I don't kill; I rehome. I've rehomed three crickets in the past two days with my trusty red solo cup. I just drop the cup on him and slip a postcard or envelope under the cup so I can take him out and dump him.
