So i purchased some things from midway and one thing was 100 of the syntech 9mm 115gr bullets they came loose packed in a box. (See pic) it has dinged the coating up and chipped it off in places. Is this proper? I would think coated bullets should come in something that keeps them packed relatively tight to prevent this.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that is factory defects....first of all the dings are pretty close to the same place on each bullet and I also do not see any "specks" of the coating in the bottom of the box.

so your right there is no debris in the bottom of the box. That said all the coated bullets ive seen are 100% coated. My buddy has a whole box of sns coated 9mm no chips in those.

    I'd agree, factory blemished 2nds.
It looks like the chipped coting spot will be inside the case.

These are not long range bullets, so I don't think I'd worry about it too much.

so i think these spots are where whatever holds them when they get dipped grabs them at. But the question is should i email midway about it. Just bugs me to see the chips even though im going to be destroying them against steel.

Are the marks on both sides of the bullet, directly across from each other?
If yes, I'd say you're correct.

It wouldn't hurt to ask, but I wouldn't hold my breath for replacements.
Midway has great customer service, but they do sell a LOT of factory seconds.

I have several hundred .20cal bullets I bought from them as factory seconds and I can't find the blemish.

yes directly across from each other. So i wouldnt have a problem with factory seconds if that was what it said when i purchased them.
