All of the lobster and sqiud I have experienced is Asian style. I am not sure if it was cooked. I love seafood and will eat just about anything from the sea. It kills me that I did not know how to prepare sea urchin when I was in Panama. They were big and yglu and scared me a bit.

I cannot believe that I have never had calamari.

When my wife was on internship and I would go visit her in Lincoln we would often go to a Greek restaurant and order the calamari. The first time it was bit of a surprise to discover they fried up the entire mantle of sizable squid instead of sissy little rings. ;)

Octopus, when prepared properly, is very good, better than shrimp, scallops or lobster in my opinion.
My wife being Italian, we had the full 7 course seafood dinner at Christmas:
Squid (her job was to remove the beaks so they wouldn't crunch)
Octopus (same, and our oldest ate them live in Korea. The video is horrifying)
    Eel (frozen baseball bat)
    Anchovies (No Anchovies, Please)
    Smelt
Two others I forget. And they put raisins in their stuffing.
After I was married I didn't have to impress anyone, so I passed on most of that.

Calamari is awesome, but it's a shame so many places over cook it, and it comes out rubbery.

After SR's post I need to revise my statement about eating almost anything from the sea.

Smelt is OK and I can eat anchovies, but all the eal I have caught were given to sea gulls along with all of the gobies I've ever reeled in.

. There is a local taco place in Ft Wayne that I get the Egg & Chorizo Mexican Tacos, and they're delicious

You might not like it too, just like Expat :dunno:

Where is this magical place? (I'm SW, in Aboite township)

The only seafood I do is battered deep fried shrimp, not the ginormous ones. Matter of fact the only fish I eat is a McDonald's fish sandwich or frozen fish sticks.

I once had at the old Stuart Andersons in Greenwood extra large shrimp that almost ruined shrimp for me. They didn't removed the vein. I'm talking HUGE sized

Lobster is overrated to me, it's good but I'll take snow crab, king crab, or octopus over it any day and scallops over it most days, even shrimp if they are royal reds. I've only had octopus grilled and it was always melt in your mouth tender with a nice, mild flavor. I've heard it can be quite tough raw though.

Raw Oysters and clams are a no go for me. Not very appetizing. Pretty much a shrimp and fish kinda guy. Not really into lobster that much either.
