The ones playing identity politics with this nomination process are democrats.

I do not believe that anyone here is implying guilt by association, but when you stick up for the Democrat Party, some will wonder. There are a number of decent people who still cling to the badge that was passed on to them by their loving parents and grand parents. There are some (we have no idea how many) that are #walkaway.

Can't remember if I mentioned it here or not, but... in picking up TT's let's-get-this-back-on-topic-baton... I read something suggesting that the Republicans would be better served allowing Dems to draw it out and, more importantly, claim credit for drawing it out. Trump's numbers are doing REALLY well right now, because the Dems look obstructionist. And petty. And weak.

For as much as I've advocated (although maybe not here) to get this over with ASAP, there could be some value in not doing so. As counterintuitive as that may sound.

I identify as an American and we already know that I'm further to the left than you are. But you are correct that #walkaway is happening in many heretofore loyal democratic households. I view it as the party walking away from the majority of traditional democratic values. We've always had crazies, but the noise level and belligerence of these groups pisses me off. No doubt I would knock the bejaysus out of any democrat who got in my face with their special interest at a caucus. That's why I don't go.

If you're talking about violence based on targeting those with different political ideology, id say that's undetermined. I'm not willing to say one is more capable than the other, as there have been significant examples coming from both, in the past 25 years.

Recently we are seeing an escalation in violence from the left leaning progressives/socialists. They grow bolder and LEO stands down and allows it.
