Especially when other sovereign coins (Britannias, Krugerands, etc.) can be had for only about a dollar more than a generic silver round. It's just silver. Just because it's an "American" silver coin doesn't make it any more valuable (IMHO) than other sovereign coins. Just a demand thing I think.I am still amazed at the spread between the spot price and what folks are asking for Silver Eagles.
Normally the spread would be about $2; maybe $3 max. I am seeing it at $8 or more when in stock.
Crazy
I keep track of my paltry pile on a spreadsheet on which I also track the spot prices and calculated Ag/Au ratios. When the premiums got out of hand I added a gold to silover ratio calc based on U.S. Eagles and Can. Maple Leafs. So as the spot ratio is something crazy in the mid 70s, the coin ratios is down around 60 or so.I am still amazed at the spread between the spot price and what folks are asking for Silver Eagles.
Agreed. I bought a few Eagles a while back just to get some 2021 type 2s. Otherwise it's been mostly Britannias and Philharmonics.Especially when other sovereign coins (Britannias, Krugerands, etc.) can be had for only about a dollar more than a generic silver round. Don't know what happened around 8 a.m. today but that's when things started taking off.
I hope you’re wrong. I want one more good buying opportunity for silver because I hesitated the last dip.And now about $1,869.49 & $25.36. I think gold will settle down some but I hope silver is beginning a moderate run. Crazy that the cheapest 1oz round is over $29 when buying 20 or more.
That makes sense!Consumer Price Index released much higher than expected
