He has been told by his relative that everything is peachy, so he thinks it is just Trumps private SS and we should be livid.

That is my take. I may be wrong and he is welcome to reply or not.

He couldn't make it to comment #7, so expecting him to get to comment #141 might be a bit of a stretch.

If only the "peaceful protesters" were peaceful?

Then we really wouldn't be talking about this now would we?

The minute we started allowing the terrorists BLM and ANTIFA to break the law is the minute this started.

The first street blocked turned this from "peaceful protest" into terrorism.

I am not super comfortable with unidentified federal agents in unmarked vehicles snatching people off the street.

But I am even less comfortable with "protesters" vandalizing and attempting to set fire to a federal courthouse while local LEOs do nothing.

    1. I believe your used of "federal special forces" is less than optimal. Every 18 series I knew is very upset with being swept up in this label.

    2. Federal cops are going to defend federal property.

    3. Cops, at times, will overreact.

    4. Those that overreact should be dealt with administratively, civilly and criminally.

    5. Remember the couple in St. Louis? They should have stayed in their castle. The feds in the courthouse in Portland should have stayed in their castle instead of black bagging dirty socialists in the street. That smacks of Chile and rubs people the wrong way.

    6. You get to protest, but you don't get to commit Arson, Battery, Criminal Recklessness and Criminal Mischief.

Out of curiosity, what sort of sentence do criminals get for destruction of federal property?

Hey I pay a lot of money for special forces. Why can't they be sent to Chicago where they're needed? And look at all that travel money we'd save not sending them Asia!

    Fair question, Lead.

Federal "malicious mischief" is 120 months (Feds do things in months); under $100 and it is a misdemeanor. You do a plug and chug on the sentencing matrix from USSC, depends on your priors, judge is allowed to deviate from matrix now:

My thought on the sentencing was to make some examples of the people being caught damaging buildings, destroying statues etc. I don't think many of these young Che wannabees understand hard time. A lot of long sentences might serve to deter the kids thinking this is a LARP game, and put a strain on the money behind this with big legal bills.

Well I will say this, I am about tired of all of this. We have DA’s threatening to arrest Federal Marshall’s, Mayors threatening the same, the Speaker of the House calling police “storm troopers”; all for protecting Federal buildings from “mostly peaceful”(except for the assaulting and fire bombing) mobs. Protesting is protected, rioting and assault are not.
