Where exactly are these "Special Forces" being deployed against people that are committing misdemeanors or less?
Seriously asking if this is happening.
I think they're actually called "storm troopers".

You cannot call them storm troopers because they hit their target.
I wish we would define "liberalism" the way the rest of the world does because then we can use the word more literally. It's primarily in the US that "liberal" became associated with any ideas left of center, including the left-wing collectivist thinking. There's some overlap, but liberal doesn't literally mean left. It means more like not restricted. Liberals don't support socialism. Progressives do.
The first example that comes to mind of what a real liberal is: Alpo. He is left of center, kinda favors free enterprise over socialism, but not without sufficient regulation and taxation. Kinda likes some well targeted social programs, but not to the extreme of a total welfare state. Kinda likes to prioritize support for working class/unions. He's pretty much on the individualist side of the individualist/collectivist divide. So not an identitarian leftist socialist. NOT communist. Basically an old-school democrat. I think that's the distinguishing point between collectivist progressives who support ideas like socialism and liberals, who still want a mostly capitalist economy, but with regulation/taxation, meritocracy, "fairness" in terms of equal opportunity, and some social programs to catch the people at the bottom.
I'd say I'm far enough from Alpo to disagree with him on some things, but I also overlap enough that I can agree. But with progressives I have very little in policy that I can agree with. And that seems to hold true for Alpo too. We have some common ground with liberals. Not much at all with the SJW progressives.

I'm kind of at the point that if someone advocates electing Joe Biden as a cure for what ails the country, then their grasp of reality is suspect and it is too high a hurdle to surmount. The fork in the road is so stark that it doesn't seem to matter what we might agree on, because we'll never meet again unless and until one of us abandons the path we're currently on
So, has the OP come back to answer questions about his post yet, or is he just going to keep throwing chum in the water?
There has been some speculation, by people with LEO experience, that the person in black who put his hands behind his back was an informer, and was being extracted. All this "secret police" started from a 20 second video of two camo-clad "Police" who briskly walked across an intersection and interacted with a sole person (and not his buddy who was holding the camera), who immediately put his hands up and walked peacefully with the officers (albeit at their pace) into a Chrysler minivan.
Portland is a pit of riots. Look at Andy Ngo's tweets, or the people he references (no Twitter account needed). Seattle is devolving again also. This has zero to do with the death of George Floyd or even "police brutality". This is nothing more than a seething mass of violence and chaos--that there's no spokesperson for the "protests" would suggest it's just mayhem, and fodder for more mayhem as videos collected of "militarized" officers taking whacks at someone who started a fire and threw a frozen water bottle at his head.
Yes, there are bad optics with all of this, including the beatdown of the Navy guy who just shrugged it off--there may have been more to the story, but that didn't look good.
Now, the protesters are adopting Hong Kong-style tactics with umbrellas and homemade shields... though, HKers never trashed the city and residents were not in fear for their safety (ironically, stores stayed open while the tear gas was flowing, because the protesters had a mission, and it wasn't to put the stores out of business.
I see you're now giving bad rep for posts you don't like. Classy. What questions am I to answer? I'm not reading every post here. I was asking for general sentiment and the general sentiment I have read is everyone is ok with it. That's the question I asked and it sounds like it was answered.
Also there's now over 12 pages here of people sharing their opinions, great, have a discussion. I asked for your thoughts and the majority sentiment is about what I expected it to be.

Okay. I guess I can see why you’re reacting this way. I just watched several videos from local and national news outlets on YouTube, and what they’re reporting ain’t the whole story. I also watched some videos taken from “protestors” themselves, as well as some independent journalists and the other side of the story is a side I don’t think you’re very willing to believe. In those protestor videos they’re happy setting fire to things, trying to barricade agents in the courthouse and then setting fire to it. Waiting outside doors, hammers in hand, trying to pummel them as they exit the building. Setting off commercial fireworks towards the courthouse, smashing windows on federal property, lots of cases of assaulting federal officers.I see you're now giving bad rep for posts you don't like. Were they sent to de-escalate, or escalate? Seems they are doing a great job of the latter.
