Ok, I'm back on the wagon. Weight is back up and blood sugar is too high. I ordered an elliptical, and I am back to restricting carbs.
Welcome, me too.

Me too. Ever since our bundle of joy arrived, life has been full of visitors, tasks, appointments, etc. Hopefully, after the dust settles, I can get back to working out. But on a side note, when you're that busy, you forget to eat, and we both have lost weight. Also, our portion size has shrunk due to a shrinking stomach. I've set a goal of Sunday that we get back in the swing of things! Damnit!I've been slacking.
It's amazing what back squats, front squats, and deadlifts will do for you. I started with puny legs. While my waist size has not changed (36"), I cannot wear straight leg pants any more, only loose fit. Skinny jeans just means you don't liftI didn't skip leg day today! That makes six weeks straight that I haven't skipped it!!! For some reason weight training my legs is the least enjoyable of my work outs.

What are you looking to accomplish? Looking at anything specific, like olympic lifting, powerlifting, CrossFit, etc.?So, newbie here, what's the secret to actually getting into free weights, when you've been using machines on and off your entire life?
