Took a sales job, and spent many miles on the road, daily. The Sales Mgr calls and say he wants a ride along to also meet some of the customers, face to face.
Fine, lets go. The second stop he asks a friendly office helper for directions to the customers's washroom. She advises, and we are on a hold till he returns.

While doing a sales presentation, the helper knocks on the door, and asks Mr.Smith(owner of business) to step out of the meeting for a second. He returns and and jokingly said" Sorry guys" and we continue. He is receptive, buys some product, and we say" thank you" and leave. On way out I observe a Plumbing Contractor Van, and ask Mr Jones(Sales Mgr) "Wonder whats up?"

"Oh", says Jones," the toilet backed up, I shut off the water, and told the lady about it." Me: " You did that?", Him: "Sure did, was a breakfast taco on my way to meet you".(no remorse on his part)
Next ride along, we stopped at a gas station before every sales presentation. They have power flushers(Sloan Valve) vs home style toilets. No more customer issues from Mr. Jones. What a pain in the ***.

He got canned a month later, seems he got lost at a Casino, doing a sales call, and wasn't seen for 48 hrs.
Never had another ride along in my 8 yrs of sales work. No great loss.
