Seared on the outside, no warmer than room temperature (preferably refrigerator cool) in the center. If the center is warm, the steak is OVERDONE. Period. Full stop. End of sentence. Cook your NY Strip or T-bone like that. They don't deserve the treatment a good rib steak should get.

    Sir, pineapple should be ate raw or with touch of sour mash on top & grilled. But never on a pizza ......anytime you wish to buy rib steaks, bring them up here, cook them for my family I will supply the rest of the meal and afterwards we can discuss what we think

    Pardon my French. I am telling exactly no one HOW to eat their steak. All I did was point out the proper way to COOK a RIB steak. Feel free to take it or leave it, just like most other advice on any internet forum.

    BTW, I do own a Glock 21 gen 4. I like having a proper handful of gun, in a respectable caliber, that hold 13+1 rounds. To me it is the perfect house gun. The stupid little penis on the trigger drives me INSANE. Though not quite insane enough to overcook a good Rib Steak.

    When I met my wife, she was a medium (YACK) well steak eater. I absolutely refuse to do that to an innocent cow. I got her to try rare. She now prefers her steaks cooked properly, also. Why? Because it tastes better that way!

    True story. Many years ago, I went to Eddy's Steak Shed in Granger. I ordered a Rib Steak, rare. When placing my order, I emphasized "rare, it should be cool in the center". My steak was brought to the table WAY over cooked. I sent it back (that place was expensive), with the same instructions. The second one arrived, also overdone. Again, I sent it back. A short time later, the cook came to my table. "You tell me how to cook your steak." "I asked for rare, bloody rare. Put it on the grill. Wait 30 seconds. Turn it over. Wait 30 seconds. Serve it. That is bloody rare." A few minutes later the cook returned with my third steak. He politely stated that he wanted me to taste it, to make sure it was done to my satisfaction. I cut it in half, exposing the properly (not) cooked interior, and took a bite. "Perfection. This is rare. Thank you."

    For those of you who need something else to rag on: I also eat bacon right out of the refrigerator. I prefer it laid out on a plate for about 10 minutes first, but fresh out of the fridge is fine, too.
