If the FBI were playing by the book (I know - :lmfao: ) they would have put the information on this guy into the system and he would have failed the NICS check and no gun would be sold.

Instead they do just the opposite and tell the store to sell him the gun.

It says that in fairly plain English.
"Allowed the sale" and asked the FFL "not to impede" = "illegal sale"?

I'd say there are a lot of assumptions in that, one of which you point to... whether the dude was not already flagged in NICS as an improper person.

IF you're arguing they should have nabbed him as soon as he signed the 4473 as intent to purchase the firearm to carry out his plan... no disagreements here.

They may want to broadcast those beliefs after the deed is done. They would certainly want to keep them secure before the deed is done, so as to maintain operational security.

An important consideration is many of these people are mentally ill, and not thinking as normal person is. This killer wanted to commit suicide, as is obvious from the photograph he posted online, showing himself with his own pistol to his own head.
A good point, and one I sometimes neglect.

But, he wanted to go out in a "blaze of glory" killing as many as possible, in order to achieve a sort of immortality in history.

It is somewhat different than purely ideological killers. Of those, the Muslims are most likely to wish to die during their attacks, because of the guarantee to achieve paradise while doing so.

Communists and other Leftists such as National Socialists are not so known to desire death while achieving their goals, as they are often atheists who do not believe in an afterlife.
So, we have a seeming conflict, then, between someone who allegedly declared some Nazi sympathy (not generally associated with seeking death as part of committing an atrocity), while also declaring an intent to take his own life (or suicide-by-cop) while committing an atrocity.

Not necessarily. They view death as an end to the pain, just that there is nothing past death.

So, I'm an engineer, not a psychologist (or doctor, or lawyer, etc.). This line of thinking may be entirely wrong. If someone were to commit such an act, and were doing so because of screwed up beliefs, why would they try to hide those beliefs? Don't such actors generally try to broadcast those beliefs (via manifesto, etc.)?
I'm not a psychologist either but I am married to one. From what I understand, many of them do, especially if they are seeking attention or in some cases, if they really deep down hope someone will stop them. It's possible though, that he had enough insight to know that someone might be able to stop him if he tipped his hand too early and was anti-social and committed enough to want the carnage more than the attention.

When your loved one dies friends and family come over to provide comfort for days. They bring food, flowers etc. You’re able to grieve with friends and family.

When your loved one dies because he’s a mass murder - I’d imagine you don’t get any support to grieve with.

I feel for the family and commend them for mentioning Mr. Dicken.

Maybe too many Al Capone movies growing up, but I always try to sit at a place with at minimum a good view of the place (restaurant) I’m at.

Hard to do at that food court. No matter where you sit, there are people behind you, and your back is either toward the outside entrance, the entrance to the main mall area, or the bathrooms.

I am wondering if some idiot is going to say Mr. Dickens is a murderer because he put 8 rounds in this bastard. The left wing gun grabbers are a twisted bunch.

I think it's odd that the family's statement is only from the father and brother, and nothing from the mother.

They’re hating on him already for being in the mall with a gun in violation of the mall’s rules. There’s no limit to what the idiots will claim.

How on earth is this a hate crime? Because the people killed all had Spanish names? Couldn't it be that the people killed happened to be the closest/easiest targets? Like Gomez, it sounds like he was right there. Not much worse than a religion of woke zealot.

I saw some on the left trying to make this claim, obviously without ever having visited that mall.

They want us to believe that the shooter hid in the bathroom for an hour and then came out somehow knowing that there would be latinos there. It's really laughable if you think about it, which they don't, because they can't.

The rest of the world will not hear about this hero from the mainstream media.
How do I know? I use a proxy service and this is what I get in 8 countries in the EU. That said there is plenty of news in the EU you can not see in the USA either.

The narrative is tightly controlled, pretty much world wide now.

It was pretty well covered that the family was broken. This side of the family is likely the better half.

Stop calling the P.O.S. who murdered people “the shooter.” Call him the KILLER or MURDERER.

Eli was also a shooter. Anyone who goes to a range and fires their weapon is a shooter.

Don’t let your language put them on equal footing.
    Exactly.
And I don't use the term "active shooter" anymore either. Hell, that describes me, not some murdering ******** coward.
