I'm not that familiar with the 44 but if it uses the same front sight as other Glocks it should be simple enough to put a little taller front sight on it to get the POI down.

    Good to know.
If I end up keeping mine, I'd want to do that.

I picked up a 44 yesterday and will a little help from my wife and a friends, we put 898 rounds through it today. Tested 19 brands of ammo, most of them higher quality than why most would shoot. It’s why I had on hand though and I had to go buy a bulk box of Blazer.

    8 Fail to fire
    3 fail to feed
    6 fail to eject

All 8 of the fail to fire did so on a second strike, to me these are ammo issues not a gun issue.

Brand and how many ran without failing to feed or eject:
    CCI SV 50/50
    CCI Mini-mag 160/160
    Aguila Super Extra 10/10
    Federal Gold Medal 10/10
    CCI Suppressor 10/10
    Norma USA Subsonic* 4/10
    Wolf 22 10/10
    Fiocchi Official 320 10/10
    SK Flatnose (pink box) 10/10
SK Rifle Match (red box) 8/10
    Fiocchi Performance 10/10
    Lapua Center-X 9/10
    Lapua Pistol King 10/10
    Eley Target 10/10
    CI 10/10
    Lapua Midas Plus 10/10
    SK Standard Plus 10/10
    Blazer Bulk 528/528

Total 889/898 fired without issue. If my math is right that should 98.99%.

*I expected the 44 would choke on this. It’s 950fps and seems to be just under the needed FPS to run. The CCI Suppressor runs fine at 970fps.

Excellent info. Thanks for the report.

I shot the rental they have at Shoot Point Blank in Merrillville.

50 rounds Aguila HV CPRN, no issues
50 rounds CCI SV, no issues

There was almost no recoil with the CCI SV.

The magazine is easy to load.

I was able to keep 10 rounds in a 3 inch circle at 10 yards shooting offhand. Don't ask how many tries it took. Averaged 8 of 10 on most attempts.

It was fun to shoot and worked. I would recommend it for people looking for something to teach new shooters on. I would recommend it for me if I hadn't just bought a new 15-22.

Welcome! I’m not looking to run that many rounds in one day again anytime soon.

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Areoflyer09 again."

Yep, I wouldn't either. It would be more about having fun with it and using it as a trainer.

For me, honestly, if I can find a couple of rimfire loads that work well in a particular gun and those loads don't break the bank, then I'm good. It's about inexpensive, hands on shooting that mimics my EDCs as well as I can, and being able to consistently ring steel (vs small groups, etc). Don't get me wrong, I like an accurate/precise well functioning gun, as it aids in meeting my goals just mentioned. I just know there is a lot of variability in 22 rimfire ammo, etc.

Again using Remington Golden Bullets, 36 grain, 1400 FPS, HP (it was in my gun bag).
Only 60 rounds today = 1545 rds. total now with only 6 issues: stovepipe, failure to eject and failure to lock slide back on last shot.
I don't count the few failure to fire since the rounds do so the 2nd time through, but none today anyway (I do keep record of them, though).
Only 21' today since I wanted to feel good about myself, 30' not so good, and 40' will be all over the place probably.

I’d like to run some bulk Federal, Winchester and Remington but I just can’t bring myself to buy and shoot more bulk ammo boxes. 90% of my 22 purchases is CCI SV, which it runs just fine. It really liked the CCI Blazer, so I may pick up some more of that.

If I could buy the bulk brands in like 100rd boxes, I’d probably do it. Not at 2-500rds per box though. it’s kind neat seeing how many different brands I can get it to run.

I have been enjoying other's postings of their experience with reliability with different ammo brands.
This is from Gun Digest: "Glock 44: Perfection In .22 LR?" by Robb Manning, April 2, 2020.

They had some issues with brands that I had none with, like the Aguila SuperExtra HP, plus it was one of my most accurate brands.
Looks like I got one made on Wednesday. :dunno:

Out of 1810 rounds, I've had 0 issues with 7 brands.
2 stovepipes; 4 fail to eject; 1 last round not-hold-slide-back = 7 total issues in 1810 rounds fired.
    7 fails divided by 1810 rds. = .0038 or .38% fail rate ( app. more than 1/3 & less than 1/2 of 1%) .
    On a .22LR, I'll take a less than 1/2 of 1% all day long.
Note: I'm not counting the 13 fail to fire, since they did the 2nd time.

It took two weeks, but my threaded barre arrived today. Very anxiously awaiting getting to take it to the range.

Overall though, I’m very happy with how it feels with the suppressor on it. My suppressor weighs about 4.5oz in its full length, or about 1/3 of the 44’s weight. Just from moving it around, I dont notice the extra weight hanging out front. I can notice it a bit more when transitioning between two targets.

Shooting at 20' around the head with 30' on neck, torso and abdomen.
I was going to shoot some at 45' but I couldn't even see the oblong "circle" in the torso.
Frustrating that some magazines shoot right on top of my "+" & the next magazine will be all around it, but not tight. :dunno:

Used Aguila 36 grain, HP, HV.
I put 130 rounds through today for a total of 1940 rounds.
Only 1 issue: a stovepipe for a total of 3 stovepipes in 1940 rounds bringing the total to 7 issues (stovepipes & failing to eject).
    I don't count FTFire b/c ammo-related.

I'm still really enjoying this gun and can't explain why.
The 44 actually reminds me of the S/W MP Compact .22LR: both lightweight with the S/W=15.3 oz & the Glock 44=(empty mag/14.7 oz); (loaded mag/15.9 oz).

If this was mentioned I missed it but 22 Pkinkstwr reported he had issues with 36 gr variety. 30 worked great. Bot sure if it was just his sample but looking at Doddg's chart looks like his results with 38 and under was on par with 22 Plinksters results

It seems to be dependent on the particular example and earlier ones having more issues. Mine has run the spectrum of 30-45gr weights and a multiple of brands.

The only issue I’ve had related to the 36gr ammo I’ve had is that Winchester’s QC is terrible, easily felt low charges on the rounds. I had 3 failure to eject occur on my last range trip out of 150rds. All 36gr Winchester ammo and all 3 failures were noticeably weak. Those 3 felt like CCI Quiets (rated at ~750fps).

Overall I’ve passed the 1100 round mark, without being cleaned, on my 44 and the error count has been so low that I’ve stopped tracking it. It’s easily more reliable than either of my Ruger Mks.

Glock total rounds = 2400 rounds.
    Stovepipes = 3
    FT Eject = 4
Failure to lock slide back after last round = 1 (suspect I dragged my finger dragged on the slide)
FT Fire (stopped counting since they always fired 2nd time through, therefore ammo related: but only 8)
    Only 7 failures that were real (stovepipes/FT Eject) = 7/2400 = .003 failure rate = 1/3 of 1%

Today, 175 rounds at 21' using 5 brands of ammo listed.
    0 failures of any kind.

    Row 1 & 2: Armscor 36 grain, HP, HV
Row 3: Aguila Super Extra, HV, copper solid nose
Row 4: Federal American Eagle 40 grain, solid lead nose, HV
Row 5: CCI Blazer 38 grain, solid lead nose, HV, 1235 FPS
    Row 6 & 7 & 8: CCI Mini-Mags 40 grain, copper solid nose, HV

A little messy using the back of a used target.

So when are we going to see the MOS 43x/48...?

I think that will be next. I was listening to the Gun Talk Nation podcast and the guest was one of the Glock factory shooters. They mentioned a range day shooting "stuff we can't talk about yet."

    Video if you're interested.

Range Day. 06.18.2020 Using 2 brands of ammo at 21'
It shoots high in my hands.
I have to shoot at a 6 o'clock position to bring the shots down.
Up to 2400 rounds with no failures for a long time (only 7 total).

Aguila Eley Prime Interceptor, 40 grain, solid copper-plated round nose on top & middle.
CCI AR Tactical 1200 FPS on the bottom.
