GM in Avon is open. They had about everything you could imagine about noon today......22LR was slim pickings and I imagine it's about gone unless they had more hid somewhere.

Picked up 5 50 round boxes of CCI standard velocity at about 7:30, but it was nearly gone. I felt really lucky. I also picked up 250 rounds of Blazer Brass .380 for $99 bucks, which I thought was a decent price, especially considering how hard .380 is to find. Lastly, I got 350 rounds of 9mm Blazer Brass in a nice plastic ammo box for $125.

That should cover me for a summer of Friday Night Steel, along with plenty of fun and practice with the new Glock 42.

Ganders prices aren't the best, but they had LOTS of ammo. A salesman told me they had sold over $50,000 in ammo today alone, by 5pm. They still had loads left, too.

For the last couple of weeks I've been getting Federal American Eagle, 230 Gr. FMJ .45 ACP for $21.00 a box at Cabela's. It has the large primer pockets. Only the Federal Champion has the small primer pockets.

Principal...I seen them 1000 count Blazer Brass bulk boxes as well, seemed like a decent price. They had them in 9mm, 1000 count for $269. Did you check out any gun prices? The ones I seen seemed high. Wonder if they will have a true Grand Opening?

I went in to get bucket of bullets in .22 but missed them. They had CCI 900 count ammo cans of .22 but it was 119, so I instead got 4 boxes of 375 CCI Choot Ems, they were like $30 each.

I am glad to have GM near us, even though regular stuff seemed expensive...like $60 golf shirts.

Yeah, I saw the 1k boxes and was very tempted, but with fishing season starting, I couldn't go that far, so I went with the 350 count. A salesman told me they will have a formal grand opening with some good sale prices, but I can't remember when he said it would be.

The gun prices were indeed high. For example, I saw an SR9 for $499. I'm pretty sure you can get one nearby at Fort Liberty Firearms for not much over $400. The regular Ruger LCP was $369, and a pink one was $349. You can get those right at $300 at an LGS, or under on-line. You pretty much have to catch their guns and ammo on sale to get a competitive price. That said, sometimes they have sales that get you pretty close. I felt $99 for 250 rounds of .380 was good. I think that's about what I paid per round from Palmetto State Armory recently. I've found .380 to be VERY difficult to find. They had LOTS of it. They also had 5.56 by the truckload. The prices for it were not good, though. But hey, if you MUST have it, they've got it.

Gander in Lafayette had a ton of .45 acp Blazer Brass for 20 bucks/box. Thats as cheap as I've seen .45 forever other than online. I was going to buy some but...well, its a Gander story. Anyway, its there, lots of it. No .22 though

Say what you want about Gander Mtn. but the new Avon store has 9mm Remington UCM - 1000 rd bulk cases, 28 cents a round after tax. That's the cheapest I've seen in a while.I snagged one.

That is a good price. About what I pay at WM for WWB after taxes. The only thing I've cheaper is Tula Brass Maxx or something like that. 100 count round containers that I've only seen twice, that end up being around 26 cents per round and the quality seemed at least as good as the WWB. Wish they had them in stock more often.

Nabbed 500 223 for 120 in Illinois today. Yes it's steel case tulammo but my gun shoots it just fine. Actually chrono'd 3 today and the ES was 7! Don't know if it was luck but that's way better than I have been able to reload so far.

Fort Wayne Indiana ---- The new Rural King (Village of Coventry) has Armscor 50pk 2.79 Eley Target 6.49 Eley Subsonic 9.99 LImit 6.

At 6:30pm they had 100s of packs of Armscor , Maybe 1000's of packs. It was a big pile.

They had less but still a lot of ELEY. Everyone was buying the Armscor.
