May brain hurts trying to understand these people. I would like to see how this works when speaking to the crowd Mayor Jacob Frey encountered.

Either you want to defund the police, which means cutting their pay and eliminating their pensions, or you do not understand what you are advocating for.

The good these protests could do is at risk because of the incoherence of their message, their unclear expectations, and the violence of looters pushing away public sympathy.

There is no placating them short of total capitulation to their demands.

Good luck to all those weak sister politicians.

This is correct. Should the demand be met to defund the police(which in my mind means to drop the police dept. budget to $0.00) it will only be the beginning. So what would be next? They will never stop with their "demands."

Just heard the stupidest things come out of an "educated" BLM leader out of Bloomington (WIBC's the first day)

-We need to eliminate the Electoral College
-We need to change the constitution

Really? You *DO* realize if you eliminate the EC, your vote wont mean :poop:? Or are you OK with it because you side with those in the big cities like NYC and LA who will end up controlling all winners from that point forward?
Exactly what is wrong with today's constitution?

It has resulted in a society where majority control is still vested in people who produce something.

Of course they want to be ruled by NYC and LA. The greatest personal domestic aspiration of most liberals is to "enjoy" living in a Coastal City, but without the associated cost of living. If you could somehow wave a magic wand and freeze cost of living in those areas at some agreed level, within 5 years half the American population would be in 5 cities. Living on top of a squirming mass of humanity, as long as the climate is nice, is the ideal existence of an incredible number of people.

I have always believed most hand-wringing about mass transportation derives from a visceral desire to live in LA. The climate is beautiful, but to live there, you have to own a car. Mass-Transit Advocacy is mostly engaged in by people who basically want to move to LA without having to own a car.

City machines are always looking for more cash, de-funding the police might mean just shifting the funding from local taxes to federal taxes. I don't think that's what the looters are after, but it's a handy sidestep for city leadership. They can hire a lot of loyal consultants and social workers with the police money.

Leadership knows at the end of the day it's police guns that keep them in charge. They make the laws, the police enforce them. The enforcement has as it's base of authority a person with a gun.

With no police, cities will be run by gangs, if you want something, you go see whatever the equivalent of don Corleone is there.

The police just all need to take a vacation to let them see how idiotic it would be by defunding them. Another reason why we need our “Ar15” with 30rd mag.

Nobody likes to be hassled by an over zealous cop on the side of the road but it’s not a winning proposition to elevate the situation by losing your cool and being combative then and there.

Take it up later through the proper channels.

Always get video if you can. Discreetly is best, like a dash cam or something, as opposed to shoving a phone in front of him.

I don't care if you're black or white. Anyone that chooses to be argumentative or combative with the police will be in for a rough ride. You will lose in the end.
