I knew who he was as my kids loved those movies. I personally could not deal with more than 15 minutes of them but hey, I am just an old fart.
Everything I have read about him since he passed has been pretty positive. A good man's life cut short.
Bad decision to go fast at that time.
80+ on a road with a limit of 40, and 80+ in a 15 mph turn
Not doubting you…but do you have a link?
You were right, chez, there is one in every crowd.
So, 225 mph? I understand you were just showing the ridiculousness of the speed, but maybe they were only doing about 90, and tied to avoid something in the road. Maybe they were being idiots and street racing someone who bumped them and are afraid to come forward? Obviously speed was a factor, but maybe there were circumstances outside of their control? Maybe they modded it and put a Toyota engine in it that stuck throttle wide open? They leveled a 45mph sign and came to a rest in front of a 25mph sign...
Your whitness
This is exactly what I was getting at. Maybe there were circumstances outside of their control.Rodas was a professional driver and did extremely well on one of the circuits. He was Walker's partner in a racing team.
I haven't heard anything at this point that indicates a cause for the accident. High speed…how high? There were skid marks (apparently) before he went into the light pole and subsequently into the tree. Something in the road? Mechanical failure? I'm sure we'll hear more.
I apologize if my purple meter failed me. I've just seen a lot of implications, if not downright suggestions lately on here that some people would rather see someone dead than alive with a different opinion.I guess the implied purple wasn't obvious enough...
And I'm sure that most people here might suggest such atrocities, but if actually given the opportunity to make that call they wouldn't.
And if you WOULD truly like to see people you disagree with dead, please speak up so I can add you to my ignore list now.
I think sympathy sex is in order.
Hey now, you shouldn't jump to conclusions. Maybe the tree was speeding!

I loved his movie Eight Below. He was so passionate about his dogs (kids) in that movie. He was taken way too soon. Prayers to his daughter and family.
Little thread resurrection here...
Daughter of actor Paul Walker files wrongful-death suit against Porsche - LA Times
Apparently no matter how fast and how furiously someone slams the vehicle in which you are riding into something, if it breaks and burns and kills you, it's the manufacturer's fault...
