Actually the police did confront them early on. Charges of police brutality caused the mayor's fortitude to shrivel up in his groin.

Orders to stand down followed. Now the police are speaking out and the fortitudeless mayor is caving to their pressure.

Tim Pool still doesn't get it and likely never will. He talks about it strictly in PR terms. The Proud Boys were the responsible ones, engaging in self-restraint, followed all the rules and laws and protested peacefully. Antifa did precisely the opposite, acting irresponsibly, breaking laws and rules and engaging in violence. This was a demonstration of difference in culture and a clear demonstration of evil (if not necessarily good). Antifa will continue to act this way because they aren't held to account. When government enables bad actors, you get more bad actions: whether it is political violence in leftist/college towns, gang violence in Chicago, or drug abuse and homelessness in San Francisco. Government that fails directly enables societies that fail.

Interesting that city political machines would want to side with antifa, political leadership might end up using them as sort of a new SA. An organization dedicated to being anti nazi doing the same things that an early nazi organization did in the 30s. I wonder if an Ernst Rohm will emerge from it and who they will be?

I didn't read the whole thing, but I did see that the Right were the "protesters" and Antifa were the "counterprotesters".... Agenda much, Old Gray Lady?
That’s the way it’s always portrayed in the media. It’s always “far right”, never “far left”. Just Antifa. Media deciding for the audience who the good guys/bad guys are.

TV news labeled it as a white supremacist rally with counter protesters.
