Then only hope is that it should take 60 votes to get major legislation out of the Senate but I totally agree with you.
I'm thinking that we're just one mass-shooting away from a total slate of weapons bans, and registrations. The next 4 to 8 years could be a veritable nightmare.

I hear you ! After the death of my friend, I'm going to be much more thoughtful of my activities. The grandparent you speak of could well be someone like CM, ChrisK, The Bandit, or patience0830 !
Exactly. I'm very likely to be an asymptomatic carrier and am not too macho to wear a mask - though I do need to try to soap on glasses trick to reduce fogging. Despite my best efforts, quietly chanting, "physics physics physics" hasn't prevented my glasses from fogging. My grandmother didn't go home for Christmas, it was bittersweet knowing she stayed put.

Understood. Just didn't want you take the quick test as gospel and changing your behavior greatly based on a potential false negative. I'm right there with you on trying to stay on the safe side.
I appreciate that. I'm a big fan of small-scale shame & peer pressure to keep good behavior. ;)

Also, I agree with everyone - 2021 & 2022 minimum will be a bad time for gun owners

I've been saying for years that "we" are losing the war for the 2A. Fewer people (2020 explosion in first time gun owners excluded) are committed gun owners today, even fewer people are hunters/sportsman. Less kids grow up exposed to firearms. The NRA has become less effective, etc. etc.

The SGE is just around the corner. We will celebrate our 2A rights that day!

Yup, all the things that you mention are in play. There's a huge percentage of younger folks who have no interest in firearms......slip-sliding away, we are

But.... for now, YES, let's keep the happy anticipation of the SGE at the forefront....surely, they can't take that away from us !

Glasses fogging is a real problem for me as well, and I don't have to go out that often. If you find some remedy for it, I'm interested.

I know that you're a tough SOB, but so was my friend. But your attitude is commendable, and the one to run with......going through life being afraid isn't anyway to live. However, caution is prudent during these times, IMO.
Caution is always prudent, old friend. More and more so as we need to be careful who we trust in these socialist times. The fraternity here is as solid a group as I have available outside of family. And some of the family will be kept in the dark.

Other than my wife and two daughters, I have no family remaining.
My genetic predecessors are either deceased, or I've sent packing.

It's the same for me .....this group, right here, is my support group....and I feel a strong passion to defend. :)

GM all, the Rona is nothing to fool with that's for sure. Like most, not too thrilled about the Georgia outcome but it could always be worse.

Enjoyed looking at the 1911 pics earlier. Helps with my recovery.

CM should start his own 1911 company.

I think being a tech nerd is what makes you leery about it. When most of what you deal with is fixing broken tech, you tend to get that way.

That is certainly true. Tech can be great until it isn’t. We sold our last BMW because all of that technology that was so cool when new started to show its age. It’s funny when you get in the first time and the memory seat position now tries to stuff you under the dash but no so much when you are in a hurry to get somewhere.

I'll try the soap thin film idea and let you know. I've thought about contacts / PRK surgery just for swimming and shooting.

MotoSolutions FogTech DX Anti-Fog Wipes used exactly as instructed is as good as I have found after trying many products for mountain biking and shooting matches.

However, once you cover your mouth and nose with your breath leaking directly up under your glasses, nothing works well for long.

A little better each day. I feel pretty crummy in the mornings but afternoon and evening I feel a lot better. It's very weird, unlike anything else. Thanks for asking.

When people (yes Ingo people) said throwing their votes away 3rd party was OK because we still had the senate I lost my fracking mind. This is entirely on us peoples.

Just popping in to say hello and good morning to everyone. :)
    Dr. Shovel I presume?

I agree with just about everything stated above. We be fooked.

On a happier note, that's the 2nd time this week Mr. Postman had delivered the goods with enough time for install before work. Bless him.
