Just thought this was neat, don’t care if you don’t care. Was gifted to me today by my father, it was my great grandfathers on my mother’s side. Was given to him best we can tell as an achievement of some kind through his employment at International Harvester here in the Fort on October 31, 1967. Engraved with his name and that date on the backside. I’ve been trying to get it wound all day, it will tick for about 5 seconds and then stop. So it needs a little servicing.

Well that was my first thought, but I’m not sure. He died in 1993... Born in 1905.

edit: 62 years old in 1967, very well could have been a retirement gift. From what I understand, he had 38 years there.

that’s really cool. I have the watch that my father’s company gave home on his 25th anniversary with the company. It’s great to be trusted with a family heirloom

Aha .... seems like a possibility then !
I sometimes forget our age differences here in CZicko land .... my father was born in 1912 .... which isn't much later than your great-grandfather ! ;)

My dad was born in 64, Grandpa was 1934. I see a trend though. 1934, 1964, 1994 (me), seems like im due for one in 2024 to keep the tradition lol

My maternal grandmother was alive until I was 21 years old. She was a real pistol (old guys expression), and was born in 1885 ..... the same year as the Gunfight at the OK corral. She lived to see Neil Armstrong walk on the moon !

Think about that for a minute ! :) What an amazing difference in the span of one lifetime.

    Serious question...

Has anyone had any luck with a WTB ad on here? If so, thinking about making one for a CZ 75B or SP-01.

If i could pick a time to be alive it would either be the wild west days (like the show Hell on Wheels) or the industrial revolution time like you’re grandma. Those two time periods fascinate the heck out of me.

My Great Grandfather emigrated to the United States 13 years before your father was born. He would have been 14 when your father was born.
