YepI believe so.
Survived that only to be killed in a head on crash in New Zeeland.
Those were pretty exciting times. I remember when Yarborough won Daytona in the 427 Mercury Cyclone and a couple years later Foyt won on a 429 Mercury Cyclone. I also cannot forget all the great racing by the Petty's. Different times, different thrills.52 years ago, on Tuesday, March 24, 1970, Buddy Baker strapped into a blue Dodge Daytona during a tire test at Talladega Superspeedway, the largest oval track in NASCAR. During the test, Baker became the first driver to break the 200 mph barrier on a closed circuit.
His fastest lap around the 2.66-mile oval was recorded at 200.447 mph.

Love the car/stance etc. but that intake is out of place/date....JMHO of course.
These cars ran in the best of times in my mind. The 40's Willy's and ford bodied gassers were my absolute favorites.
How he ever survived this is a Miricle. Pure God sent Miricle.I believe so.
