    This didn't take long, using a car and knife attack to call for gun control. Never let a crisis go to waste I guess.

    Rep. Ilhan Omar
    @Ilhan

    Heartbroken to learn another CP was killed while protecting the Capitol. My thoughts and prayers go out to the officer’s family and the entire Capitol Police force. The death toll would have been worse if the assailant had an AR-15 instead of a knife.

    What do you count as armed though? Hitting someone with a flagpole for example?
    I guess I'm thinking in terms of intent. The flagpole would be a "makeshift" weapon. I don't know if the carrier intended to use it as a weapon when he decided to carry it or not. I suppose it's possible.

    Lunging at officers with a large knife after running into two of them with a car? Eh, not much ambiguity there.

    One more question!

    In the law, if something other than bare hands are used to hit someone is there a differencen in the charges?

    Point out the Strawman you claimed then.

    Asked a few questions got the answers and you wanted to intervene.
    Death count and flagpole fighting come to mind.
