I had a pension program (non-union) at BMG Music. It was terminated about a year after I started back in 1995, but I'm still getting my pension check. That sweet $98.05 a month is awesome!

Were you fortunate enought to work the return line and get free adult VHS's?

Shame it didnt work out, 30 years might have turned into a decent check.

I was a computer programmer that wrote COBOL code to interface with our warehouse automated picking machines down in South Carolina. We didn't sell adult videos. And I couldn't understand your post because it was gobbletygook. Correct your typos and try again.

My ex wife worked for BMG at that time, they sold educational soft porn.

So there it is, you are that small.
You got to do better than that.
BS. We never sold anything of the kind. It was a CD club when I was there. Your wife may have worked for Columbia House. But they never sold soft porn videos either, so I'm still calling BS.

    And organized crime carries guns.
Therefore, anyone carrying a gun, is organized crime.

Thanks for providing that logic trail.

What would you call someone who knowingly donates to an organization run by the mob? Sure you might not commit crimes, but you’re donating to people who do and enabling them to operate.

Some are just upset that they never got through the being the coffee boy.

No. But I’m saddened that here in “free America” some people don’t have the honesty to call a spade a spade. I expected that from the idiots I lived with in California. I had higher expectations for you midwesterners.

I’m unwilling to trade my principles for a couple of extra paid days of vacation. You and other here appear to feel differently. That’s fine. We all make choices. But what you don’t get to do is ignore reality. If you have a Y chromosome you’re a male, and if you pay union dues you’re funding organized crime and liberal politicians.

    It’s that simple.

Federal law prohibits union dues from being used for political contributions; that's what PACs are for.

While there absolutely has been some crimes associated with organized labor over the past decades, in recent years it isn't any worse than the grifting, bribery, insider trading, stock manipulation, and other crap that occurs in business. The SEC tends to frown on those things, and a unit of DOJ prosecutes those kinds of cases with regularity.

Its good to have principles, and better to not compromise them. Nobody is holding a gun to your head to be a union member, and you have the FREEDOM to go work someplace union membership isn't required. To that point, people with your "principles" should think long and hard about 'right to work' because that's the exact same something-for-nothing, coattail-riding nonsense as the liberals you claim to dislike. The "right" to not be a union member yet work in a closed shop is as pulled out of thin air as the right to heath insurance, college education, etc.

Federal law also prohibits embezzlement but that doesn’t stop union leadership from doing either.

I’m under no illusion that private business doesn’t have its share of corruption. But the difference is that a business doesn’t hold itself out to be anything other than an organization whose purpose is to make a profit. Kind like the difference between a thief and a cop who steals.

Finally, I don’t recall making any statement about right to work laws here so I’m not sure how it’s relevant. That said, I believe in freedom, economic and otherwise. So if people wants to form a union, so be it. I wouldn’t pass a law prohibiting it. However I also wouldn’t prohibit an employer from canning any such employees either. That’s how freedom works.

First im not a midwesterner, i'm trying to understand when I sold my principles to the Union that I was a member to.
Why would I call a spade a spade uf I never once seen this supposed spade in the Trade I worked in?
Not once did I get the opportunity to meet and greet the pinstripe boys outta New Jersey.
It just didn't happen. Did I see things? Sure,
But it had nothing to do with my Trade.

What corporation do you work for?
    United Technology for me.
