    Here is a country, if properly organized, that would be one of the richest and strongest in Asia.
    Unfortunately, the recent history of similarly positioned countries in Africa shows that mineral riches encourage the formation of kleptocrat governments as well as kleptocrat 'liberation' movements that both relentlessly use the population and the countries resources to maintain themselves in the style that they wish to become accustomed to

    I only make the point about Afghanistan because of its truly insane reserves of wealth. There are trillions, not just billions, to be made in a land with just roughly 35 million native. One of the big reasons many of the world's empires have had a go
    When the Chinese gain control of that wealth, why would they bother to go with the helpful ally route rather than follow the Tibet and Mongolia models
