My reference was in response to the Reason article that I understood to be comparing consternation of a year or 2 ago where the .gov was accusing people with NRA stickers or Gadsden flags or people that attended tea party rallies as being dangerous terrorists wanna-bes with what is actually going on today. Nothing wrong with philosophizing. But you know as well as I do that even in a serious thread that you envision, which if this were, I'd gladly participate in an earnest manner, will quickly devolve into ad hominem attacks, snarky rebuttals, and trolling. This thread was never that. This is typical internet banter where arguments and counter arguments are bandied about with no serious desire to reach consensus...hardly a serious problem solving instrument.
