Ruger SR1911 is right in your price range
Good luck finding one though... I've never seen one in the wild. I hear they are harder than usual to get given the name, relatively new, etc.

Good to know. The only review I've heard so far is this one: https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/handguns/235656-regent_r350cr_1911_a.html
THAT was that gun??That was just a parts swap to fix it as well. I put in a new feed ramp and runs like a champ now

Oh stay away from Llama at any price
THAT was that gun??
Awesome that you could fix it! I assume Regent completely washed their hands of it, then. Good to know.
I really like both my RIA's . I have 2 tacticals one in 45and one in 9mm
I have seen Ruger 1911s quite often at my local Hammond Cabelas, AAMF there was one there 2-3 days ago. And also seen one at my newly revamped guns only Gander Mtn. Also now that the gun buying craze has deminished considerably you can start giving online gun stores a look, especially ones that include S&H in the price. Just find you a FFL dealer that will do a FFL tranfer for $35 or less.
I bought my Taurus 1911 for $595. No issues at all with it. It's a great shooting gun right out of the box. The only mod I did to it was to add custom grips.
Do you have any RIA's in stock at the store? I haven't been able to find any RIA's in the South Bend area and the "dealer locator" on the RIA website doesn't show any dealers within 100 miles of South Bend.Super happy with my RIA MS.
Just got home from sending some lead through it.
Rock on Rock I.
Check out Buds and Impact online. They've had the SR1911 a lot lately, though they are selling right around MSRP. I"ve even seen the commander version on there.I think the SR1911 availability was a fluke. It was the hot ticket item last year, and just as you would expect them to start hitting shelves the panic hit.
Glad to hear they are finally coming around. Its on my short list of guns to buy.
