Since the M2 is the select fire version of the M1 carbine; if you got this for $840 as per the GunBroker ad, you got something of a deal. That being said, if the M1 carbine is not "import marked", it was still a heck of a good buy. Congratulations!
From the discussion, I take it that there are no children involved. If that is the case, my recommendation follows that of others. She has found or is finding a new individual that she believes will be a better situation for her - whether it be money, security, life style or sex. She just...
Sorry to correct you, but..... There is no such thing as a "former" Marine! You may be inactive but you are still a Marine! You paid your dues when you stood that graduation parade and NO ONE can take that away from you. Semper Fidelis, Marine!
My wife's car is a Prius - I drive it sometimes. You must drive a GREAT BIG PICKUP TRUCK WITH THOSE SEXY BIG TIRES. My (male equipment) is big enough - I don't have to try to compensate. Oh, my daily driver is a BMW.
As an immediate matter, probably a moderate percentage. In the long run, 100%. "EMP/SHTF scenarios" are not that remote a possibility - how many countries/rogue factions have or nearly have access to nukes?
One rather big EMP and all the technology needed to "find, fix and destroy" those ships and planes is gone. It all comes back to the man standing on the objective - whether that objective is a hill, an island or a continent.
I don't want to start a peeing contest here because you acknowledged that "boots on the ground (are) still needed", however, name me a war or really a significant battle that "technology" has won. Battles and wars are won by the privates and PFC's standing on top of an intermediate or final...
An old retired USMC running mate of mine sent me this picture. I have never seen (or heard of) one like it. I looked the picture over pretty well and can find no evidence of being "photo-shopped."
Anyone have any thoughts?
When I was younger and less shaky, I took some pride in my ability with a handgun. Now, older, the old hand and arm don't want to cooperate with my concentration - long story short, I can hit center mass and keep a reasonable group but that little bitty bulls-eye is beyond my ability level...
I'm not sure where to put this - didn't want to put it in handguns as it is an air pistol.
Anyway, when I was younger and less shaky, I took some pride in my ability. Now, older, the old hand and arm don't want to cooperate with my concentration - long story short, I can hit center mass and...
Becks - congratulations on a great find! I have a small collection of M1 carbines (9 and counting). I hope you get as much enjoyment out of yours as I do out of mine.
The original post in this thread was back in 2011, I think. Prices have gone crazy! What then was going for 5-600 is now...
I just received this. I searched and could not find any earlier reference to it anywhere on the board. Note the date. I have no reason to doubt the authenticity of the letter - the person I received it from is a reliable and trustworthy individual.

Was it just me or was PSS missing at the 1500? I can't remember them missing any shows in the past. As an aside, for those who think buying something at the 1500 is a bargain, don't forget to add in the $17.00 service charge - you know, $5 to park and $12 to get in.
