I actually don't care what 'you' (not directed at you personally) do in the privacy of your own home, although I think chronic pot use makes people lazy and stupid. It's that intersection of your rights with mine thing. If you claim the right to alter your mental state while performing tasks that can adversely affect others; I don't want to ride with you, I don't want to depend on you, I don't want to employ you, I don't want you flying my plane or driving anywhere near me and I think the sanctions for overestimating your capabilities in a way that negatively affects me or mine should be extreme. This applies to alcohol, coke, meth, opiates etc every bit as much as pot
Insane because I don't think we should intentionally affect our brain functions with foreign chemicals? That's me I guess...
The fact that we have accepted this behavior for centuries while we have grown huge professional and private organizations to help people away from the poisons is puzzling. The same as standing by to watch the hordes of homeless users who care about nothing other than the bottle grow to rot our society and use our public resources.
^^^ That's just the legal stuff that we tout as cool. Alcohol and tobacco. The "relaxing" buzz effect of the chemicals that make us believe that chemical use is good. Doesn't even mention the chemical use mentality that lead a lot to the illegal stuff, the stuff we are discussing here. The next steps; crack, heroin, etc...
Yeah, yeah, I know I'm an anti-gunner because you disagree with my opinion.
^^^ That 's getting old real fast.
Some of you all should study up to back up your side of the discussion rather than failing attempts to insult those you disagree with.

Prescribed meds as well. Altered state, stay home. Then it is your right to treat your body as you see fit. Easy enough to understand.
Just had had a beer with my dinner. Guess I'm on my way down a slippery slope. Homeless and on heroine by next month I'm betting. Cant wait.
You're going to be 'on' a female hero? Tut, tut - this is a family oriented site
Blame autocorrect in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

"There will always be a fight against guns as long as we a society accept the use of weapons at all. Knives and brass knuckles being legal is a problem. This is where the Australians have it right. "
FTFY
As a left-leaning gun owner, I look forward to seeing conservatives try to argue against states rights on this issue

I see we are back to blaming chemicals for our problems. Talk about getting old.
I'd try to refute that, but I haven't had my coffee yet.
You've got to be joking!?There will always be a fight against other drugs as long as we a society accept the use of intoxicants at all. Alcohol and tobacco being legal is a problem. This is where the Muslims have it right.
I don't think any laws should change, but I do think that the govt should take the same actions with alcohol as they have cigarettes. PSA's and heavy taxation have all but eliminated the nasty cigarette habit that in my day nearly everyone tried and many picked up. We did this because it was the cool "adult" thing to do. Most of our parents and people we looked up to smoked and that's what we knew.
We hear very little about the negative aspects of alcohol unless we go to or are sent to rehab. Paint alcohol in the same poor light as we have cigarettes, along with taxing it to unaffordability, then we have a start. A start to change the mentality of the public from a chemical use mentality to a non.
This same non chemical mentality then leads to a non drug mentality, eventually. Educating the public to put only nutrients into our bodies is a long way out, but it's certainly achievable.
As as non user of alcohol, tobacco and drugs I would hope our president would lead the way to programs to un-glamorize their use. As the close brother of a man who drank himself to death at an early age, he could do a lot in his brother's name.
