Well yeah! I mean a Glock makes bad guys hurt and all, but a 1911 does it with style.
I'm not much into "style" if I have to face 15 guys with a 7 shot pistol.

Drop the 1st 5 or 6 and the rest will scatter.
Why should they if they're better armed than you?....... You have a choice. Both guns are in the same caliber. You pick which one. One holds 7 rounds, but it's beautiful. A real sight to behold. The other holds over double that amount, but it's not so pretty. Now, you pick the confrontation that, "suits your lifestyle". No matter what you pick, having less ammunition in the same gun is NOT a smart choice. Regardless of the situation, or number of people in it. As Harry Callahan said, "That's a hell of a price to pay for being stylish!"

Harry did it with 6 rounds
I carry a 1911 because it points well in my hand. I have tried the High cap offerings and I do not run them as well as a 1911. Old dog, new tricks. I have even rolled with the double stacks from para and they were really good guns just a bit heavy.
My EDC is fit with (8) round Wilson with 2 (10) rd Chip McCormick Power mags as back up. I usually hit what I am pointing at.....usually.
IMO, you aren't as realistic as you want to think you are. Which is fine. We all have to decide for ourselves what works for us. If you are faced with 15 armed bad guys it won't matter what you are carrying. If all or most of them engage you simultaneously then you are probably going to die. That's reality.
I hate 1911s because I want a Wilson Combat but don't have the budget for it.

On second thought you would go with the same caliber, but in a lesser capacity pistol???
