1st post, yea!
Mark III 22/45 and a heritage rough rider. Both equally fun, just different...
For those that complain about the Ruger self-loaders, I highly recommend the Majestic Arms "Speed Strip". I have it in all of my 22/45s.

I used to own about 40 beautiful High Standards but lost all but 2 in a divorce in 1994. Had woman anti-gun judge.
Glad I found this thread. I am actually wanting to get a .22 1911. Anyone have any suggestions on what brand that is a nice gun but won't break the bank? I really just want this as a range gun because I love the look and feel of the 1911 but can't afford to go spend a ton of money to shoot a .45 at the range as I could cheaply do with the 22.
The GSG1911 has been working very well for me. There are several 1911 pattern .22LR's it there, but unless you are willing to shell out big for a Colt Ace, I would say the GSG1911 is one of your best choices. The SIG is just the rebranded GSG for an extra $100, the Chiappa doesn't actually operate like a true 1911, the Browning is not to actual scale size. I was drooling over Kirk's custom built compact 1911 .22LR a page ago though; it looks like a true, all steel version.
What about these?
I just bought an M&P22 pistol for training on the cheap. It is a fantastic pistol. I LOVE shooting this pistol.
