I had three revolvers 2 .38's and a 22lr given to me by family and friends over the last forty years but the one I love is my new G27. It is the first one I have purchased and I am sure not the last as I am already looking for a G23. And then.....?
A Nazi proof marked Luger, with a totally rusted bore, in 1967.
It was completely dissembled.
I looked up an "exploded" diagram in Shooters Bible and put it together from that.
It functioned fine but with no rifling left in the barrel you couldn't shoot your own foot with it.
I traded it for a new S&W Mod 28.

Glock 35. I really like the trigger and it's accuracy. Also got a scope mount for it and put a red dot on it for grins. The nice thing about it is that the 24C slide also fits nicely on the 35 frame.
Very accurate at 25 yards.
Well I guess my first handgun is a handgun merely by technicality. I bought a used Ruger Charger from a gun shop the other day. I know its sort of a useless gun for anything other than just having fun, but what the heck it just looks so darn cool.

I've owned rifles and shotguns since I was 7 years old, but I did not purchase my own handgun until I was 24 years old. My first handgun was a Heckler & Koch P9S. It was ultra reliable and very easy to shoot. I sold the gun to a coworker in Cincinnati before moving back to Indiana... I regret that.
