This is a really thought provoking piece from an American citizen from Finland. He makes a number of points that flat out refute the anti-Nordic model opponents in the US and makes the point in favour of the Nordic model for the US. While it's not my cup of tea, he certainly lays to rest the usual arguments against it that we hear incessantly. Some aspects of their model would certainly work well in the US and alleviate many of the burdens currently shouldered by US businesses and individuals. And the tax rates aren't really that much higher than what we currently have. Guess it's just a matter of what you want to see your tax dollars spent on and who would benefit most from it.
