Whiskey Tango Foxtrot??? I'd laugh at the joke, but unfortunately it isn't one.

I guess that Christian worship group 'assembly' isn't as protected as the gang bangers down the road who 'assemble' in their yards and scare the neighbors into hiding indoors. The gang bangers have the "right" to hang out (read into that...assemble) wherever they want and I'm sure there would be some sort of community organizer (I mean community leader) who would file a suit to protect their ability to do so. Where's the calvary when the non-violent religious folks are under attack?

None of us are completely surprised by this sort of thing, but we should all be outraged.

Coming to a theater near you. Probably had too many cars parked on the street and the neighbors complained or something.

you hit the nail on the head. Neighbors complained about the cars, a too eager code enforcement officer did question the people. However the county officials in their infinite wisdom decided they didn't want to be legislating home religious studies and said they will work with the home owners about the parking. the article is on snopes.com

Wow, so you just had to hurl an insult at the Christians on INGO. Did you ever think you just proved the point Christians make that they feel like they aren't respected, even to the point of discrimination?

Roadie calm down and b r e a t h. I think that Crystalship was just making fun of obama's comments on the campaign trail, not trying to hurl an insult at us Christians.

snopes... a place for socialists to "debunk" truth. snopes has shown a lefty lean time and time again. not sure why people keep pointing to the damn thing. maybe they lean that way too. I think i will take the OP's link to the original story in the SanDiego TV 10news over snopes all day long. And that is NOT an endorsement of the 10news folks (i don't know them) just a vote of no confidence for snopes.

Tinfoil hats, Crystalship? A Bible study was threatened; they responded; San Diego backed down. End of story.

    Bible thumping? Seriously...

Yeah, and actually, if you read the snopes version, it simply leaves out the details of the questioning from the land use department officer. Also, it adds information that hadn't happened yet when the TV 10 story was published, like the backpedaling of Chandra Wallar and Walt Ekard. It only ended on Friday, folks. It looks to me like San Diego backed down after all the negative publicity generated by the story.

I'd also note that Snopes says "partly true" on the story, but doesn't mention what part of the story is not true. If it's only "partly true" then there must be something that they know is not true, but wouldn't they point that out if they knew it to be untrue?

I find it strange that there seems to be a propensity of people that will automatically write off any "Christian" groups complaints that their rights are being infringed as stupid, or baseless, yet immediately pull out the rally flag when they think gun-owners rights are being violated.

Remember: If the 1st falls, the 2nd isn't far behind.

What "propensity of people" are you referring to?

I see this attitude all over the internet, the news, and in person. When a Christian claims persecution, the general response is "another whiny, woe is me Christian". I see this attitude in other Forums, such as Topix, and I have seen it here on INGO.

I have seen gays, Pro choicers, pro gunners, Muslims, etc and etc, cry foul at persecution of their "group", then laugh at "so called Christian persecution".

It is a prevalent attitude in today's society that Christians are the only group that is acceptable to ridicule, while it is "intolerant" if you ridicule any other group.
