It's Not the stopping of Ammo sales that should bother you. It's the president of the company sending letters to Congress and the president to "Pass common sense Back ground checks", he is lobbying congress to pass more laws! That's what makes me mad. Fine don't sell guns, great, but leave me the hell alone.

Amen. I totally agree with you. The Dicks Sporting Goods CEO did something similar when he hired lobbyists to press politicians to ban AR-15's.

That dude clearly doesn't care about social norms and proper etiquette, I can see how folks around him would get offended.

You simply don't wear a hat indoors.

No 5.56, no .308, no x39, no "handgun calibers", so what exactly are they going to sell? Shelves full of 30-30 Core-Lokt for $25 a box?

There went my last reason to ever go to a Walmart. This sucks, they're the only brick and mortar store that sold ammo at anything even remotely approaching a reasonable cost, and were also the only brick and mortar ammo retailer in town.

The giant middle fingered message Walmart is sending LAWFUL gun owners (you know, the VAST majority of people who actually own and use guns) really p*sses me off. Then again, I admit I would only rarely take advantage of Walmart's very decent ammo prices. Mainly because it was always a hassle to have to find someone to unlock the flippin' locked vault (think Fort Knox) and get the ammo out for me, rather than trusting me to grab it myself. Factoring in that delay/annoyance with the long hike to the sporting goods section, all the while dodging the, well, Walmart shoppers, was always less than optimal and pretty much canceled out the price savings in my opinion. So I won't miss that crappage, even as they can go suck it for telling us gun owners how they really feel.

This is a good point. If Walmart was really all that interested in pushing volumes of ammo in the first place, they have made manning the sporting goods counter a little bit of a priority. Holy cow, finding a person that could even call the person was a chore.

I say boycott the place and shop at stores that either got rid of guns and ammo decades ago or never sold them at all.

Am I saying don't boycott them? Nope. I understand why we would want to- just pointing out the logical end of a boycott.

Meijer- no guns anymore, some rifle and shotgun ammo.
K-Mart- no guns or ammo anymore (I got my Marlin 60 there 25 years ago).
Local grocery store?- If there's one that sells guns and ammo, let me know.

Harder and harder to find a Kmart that is still open.

If by some chance I have occasion to have to go to Walmart, I'll carry concealed as I always have.
Just like I do at other Indiana businesses with this policy.
And if they notice and ask me to leave, I'll just leave.

Lemme get my flame suit on...

I think I might be the only guy here that is actually not that pissed about this... They've asked you, under full daylight and transparency, to not OPEN carry in their stores because barely days after someone shot one of them up some jack wagon walked into a Walmart with a rifle (not even slung!) as a "protest"/social experiment, and freaked absolutely everyone out (as I would have as well if I saw that). Walmart's business is not to be our soapbox for 2A demonstrations and I wouldn't let that fly at a business I owned either. OUR bad apple is what caused this. I'd like to have smacked that kid for doing something so stupid. We're supposed to be ambassadors of the firearms community when we're carrying; not out terrifying the locals.

The not selling of ammo is obviously a gesture to the gun banners, and I don't approve, but Walmart doesn't sell porn either (or even explicit lyrics albums) and I'm not all offended about my first amendment right to it. Plus, actual sporting goods stores always have better sales anyhow if you're buying more than a box, which of us are.

So... I wasn't a big Walmart shopper to begin with (haven't been in years, actually... order online sometimes), but this won't push me out of doing business with them. They've asked me to do something I feel is reasonable (carry concealed) because some of our own just don't know how to act. I can live with that. Frankly, I wish they'd kick more idiots out of their stores...

What I can't live with are the businesses that shadow ban guns (banned at the corporate level, but only signs on the doors where their market approves) like Costco. You want to play both sides of the issue and be cowardly in your actions, I won't be doing business with you. Costco in particular pisses me off because so many 2A guys shop there since they CATER to our lifestyle, except in writing. Hell with them...
I’m curious, what other “idiots” should be kicked out of stores?

I'd start with the people who can't calmly walk down an 8 foot wide aisle while leaving enough room for someone else to pass, eliminating around 70% of their client base.

...I also hadn't seen this Everytown horse s%$ before... Walmart is off the menu... Not sure how I'm going to get by without Sam's, but I'll figure it out.

Now they just did a release saying they were not bending to liberal anti 2nd Amendment groups. No AR -15 items no 5.56mm ammo. That's bending to liberals.

I think they realized that they just pissed off about 100 million gun owners. So they come out with that pothitic release.

My son worked for Walmart for a few years. During that time we got an idea what their employees go through on a daily basis. Not only from the corporation but from management. I believe there will be people testing this policy implementation. All Walmart’s employees are probably dreading it. They have no say in the matter. My response to Walmart will be to not shop in their stores. I will purposely choose other stores to avoid Walmart.
