Independents are just pretentious liberals that want to act like they are somehow above politics. You DO know that in most states an independent is simply a voter with no declared party affiliation/allegience, yes?
Are you naive enough to believe that a large percentage of such people are actually independent of thought or undecided?
For example, according to Ballotpedia the DC electorate demographics in 2016 were:
Democrat 76%
Republican 6%
Libertarian 1%
Green 1%
Independent 17%
The election voting results were 90.9% Democrat votes, 4.1% Republican, 1.6% Libertarian and 1.4% Green
What is it about 15% of independents arguably breaking Democrat (about 88% of the total) that leads you to conclude they are truly independent rather than merely claiming to be so for the purposes of virtue signaling?
Even in more normal areas of the country, 'independents' usually break between 2:1 and 3:1 Democrat with the best split being roughly 50/50 in landslide Republican wins like Reagan and Nixon
IMO the mindset that influences people to want to register independent overwhelmingly favors democrat/progressive agendas. A republican who puts too much effort into wooing independents is wasting time and resources on a Quixotic mission, for a conservative to win they usually have to do by a large enough margin to need little in the way of independent votes
True independents, that is persuadable voters who have not made up their mind, are the 80 year old black grandmothers who don't drive that are interminably brought up to argue against voter ID - they only exist as a convenient fiction to drive narratives on how elections should be conducted
Tip of the hat to such brilliant satire!
Well. I guess. Plenty of avid maskers wear it on their chin. Can i pick to only do 1/2 ?
Oh I didn't want to wear the maskWell. I guess. Plenty of avid maskers wear it on their chin.
My first thought is they're a brainwashed sheep. How often did you see someone wearing a mask prior to this whole charade, compared to now? I'd bet 99.9% of the people still wearing the face diaper are virtue signaling at best.I see someone wearing a mask I first think they are sick and trying not to spread their germs as much.
My second thought is they are worrywart's.
Or they are people that don't align well with either party.Independents are just pretentious liberals that want to act like they are somehow above politics.
I think a large percentage of them are scared. They bought the whole pandemic hook, line, and sinker. My first thought is they're a brainwashed sheep. So basically, Trump has to put on knee pads to woo CFG, who is politically aligned with the swamp, if we’re to believe INGO. I have my own suspicions around CFG, they seem to be a little too fond of the chamber-o-commerce for my tastes. As long as Trump knows what he’s getting in bed with.Trump says he and Club for Growth are ‘back in love’
The former president spoke at a Club for Growth event on Friday night.
During a roughly 20-minute speech at the Club for Growth retreat, held at The Breakers resort in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump told an audience of donors that he and McIntosh, who have long maintained and hot-and-cold relationship, split over “a couple” of races during the midterm elections, but had more recently reconciled.
“We had an argument about a couple of people that you know well, and that broke us up for about a year,” he said, according to a person in the room granted anonymity to share details of the private event. “And then we had one that we mutually agreed on, which was surprising to people — a good candidate, however, who is going to win. And then we did a couple of others. And now "we’re back in love, we’re deeply in love.”
During his speech on Friday evening, Trump noted that Republican mega-donor and Club for Growth benefactor Jeff Yass, in addition to McIntosh, had called him and asked him to speak at the retreat. Should Trump win over Yass — whom Trump described as “fantastic” — it would potentially be a major financial boost to his campaign.
I've heard from somewhere before that CfG isn't AF and anyone affiliated with them is not AF either. So basically, Trump has to put on knee pads to woo CFG, who is politically aligned with the swamp, if we’re to believe INGO. Especially now that DeSantis isn't in the picture then CfG is acceptable to be affiliated with I would guess.Yeah, that’s what I heard too. If Trump gets in bed with CFG, I suspect we won’t hear too many complaints about them anymore.
I guess the argument could be that it's ok for Trump to be affiliated with CfG because he can't be bought off to do their bidding. He's not as susceptible to it as DeSantis might have been. He can accept their money and support without being beholding to them unlike DeSantis. No, I think Mike just posted something about it recently.
Whatever the argument is, I am certain there is one.I guess the argument could be that it's ok for Trump to be affiliated with CfG because he can't be bought off to do their bidding. Hey, Trump could use an infusion of cash from a mega donor even if he has to bend a little bit on who he gets it from. He did say they were "in love again, deeply in love." But in all fairness, I guess it's better than taking money from democrat big donors.Whatever the argument is, I am certain there is one.
There's some truth to this. Not completely though. I consider myself an independent in that I don't like either party, and being a joiner is just not in my nature. But I am political as ****, obviously, lol. I eat, sleep, breathe politics, unfortunately. I tend to vote Republican, even though I think most Republican candidates are trash. They're evil, but least evil. The Republican party is the only one of the two that allow sane policies to be sought. Democrats cancel their own for not being progressive enough.Independents are just pretentious liberals that want to act like they are somehow above politics.
