Not sure what school you went to, but we learned "Caveat Emptor" in school.

If we said that in our school we would get our mouths washed out with soap.....

I graduated in 1983, I don't ever recall hearing that while I was in school,
or in use in the late '70's early 80's.

And I would hazzard a guess that I'm not the only one that did not know what it means.

I know I'm showing my age. But didn't of you people watch the Brady Bunch as kids??? Lol. There's a whole episode devoted to "Caveat Emptor" and we did talk about it in both middle and high school. Wayyyyy back in the early eighties fwiw
