How the heck does a n00b with 7 posts get THAT much Rep?
There are people with only a few dozen posts that are practically maxed out. There is a thread over in the off topic area where the sole purpose is for people to just give each other rep every day until they get five golds, five silvers, and five bronzes.
It defeats the entire purpose of the rep system but the mods allow it.
in real life it doesnt mean all that much.
i like this post. and for you old time posters out there im new to these forums and im not real sure what this reputation system is but just let me say that not all of us noobs are "glory hogs" and we just want to participate in a cool forum that shares our same interests. besides, does it really mean anything to have a bunch of reputation points when you have to cheat to do it? its like having a million friends on FB. in real life it doesnt mean all that much.
i hear a lot of indiana citizens being harassed for open carry.
As an update to this thread, the FWPD has just concluded a block of instruction regarding open-carry of guns in its in-service training modules for all personnel, with another session specifically for supervisory personnel. Supervisors were trained on this material in late 2012, and the department-wide in-service training cycle runs through Saturday, 2/2/13. Extensive information regarding Indiana firearm-related statutes was provided to every officer during my session and a pretty thorough discussion was held regarding constitutional issues at both the state and federal level, complete with recent case law concerning carrying of handguns in Indiana. I hope this training will help!
Sounds Good. Will there be any accountability built in for any officer that chooses not to adhere to this new instruction? Such as signing off acknowledging that the instruction was received? As an update to this thread, the FWPD has just concluded a block of instruction regarding open-carry of guns in its in-service training modules for all personnel, with another session specifically for supervisory personnel. There is really no excuse now for any such strong arm coercion tactics concerning the legal carry of a firearm in the State of Indiana based on false information, whether it's done knowingly or through ignorance of the law.

WOW... I am glad I ran accross this thread, just today I mailed in the state portion of my LTCH. I live in Auburn (which is only 30mins north of Ft Wayne) I do go to Ft Wayne often. I will keep this in mind if I happen to be approached by un-informed officers.
You will not have to worry for a little while..It's in the mail...HA HA. Bill..
