Rand Paul takes jab at one of the only viable GOP candidates, proves he's not actually interested in helping party.

Paul blasts Rubio: 'We're lucky he wasn't president during the Cold War' | Washington Examiner

Or, an alternate opinion. He tweaked your guy.

I agree with Rand on a great many things but he has a habit of talking like he's responding to a post on an internet forum. That's all the story picks up, is that one line and it makes it a headline and that's all potential voters that don't know him will see. He's not doing himself any good with this tact.

I think that's a valid assessment. Rand Paul has no one to blame but himself for his low poll numbers, and he just comes off wrong to people. I think his message would be better received without the snark, but Trump seems to be able to pull off snark without it hurting him too much. Maybe Rand is trying to create sound bites that get him in the news. But unlike Trump, it seems to marginalize him more than it helps.

Consider that shark safely jumped. Rush is unbearable right now.

Rush: "Trump wrote a book in 2000 claiming the USA will suffer an attack making the '93 Trade Center bombing look like firecrackers."

This is the same guy who praised Hawaii's socialist healthcare system. He's jumped ship a long time ago.

Rush is playing Republicans like a damn fiddle.

Trump down in 2nd Iowa poll

    DMR Iowa Poll Movement

    28 Carson +10
    19 Trump -4
    10 Cruz +2
    9 Rubio +3
    5 Jeb -1
    5 Rand +1
    4 Carly -1
    3 Huck -1

Iowa Poll: Carson surges to 9-point lead; Trump slides

Iowa Republicans are heavily skews towards evangelical types. Not really calling Carson a political "evangelical" but I could see where he would appeal to them. I'm not all that surprised by that poll, except for the horrible showing for the Huckster. He did a lot better last time in Iowa.

    Could be anywhere
I was in Iowa last week. Commentary on the local radio is that Carson and Cruz will have the strongest ground game when the caucus happens.

Recent commentary on National Review shows Cruz to be at the top of the money game and to have the most endorsements other than Bush. In their 'Follow the Money' story they basically outlined how he is set up to win based on the mix of big and small donors.

Trump is now out there retweeting Vox.

What's the difference between Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders? One repeats Code Pink talking points, the other is a Senator from Vermont.
