I don’t think EV’s will collapse. There is a true market for them. The artificial market created by TPTB driven by climate hysteria will be what crashes.

As far as ESG, that’s not a market driven by profit motive. It’s driven by ideologues.

Agree. EV's have a place, along with ICE, Hybrids, PHEV's etc. There's room for all of them. In fact, the idiocy of our gov't yet again trying to shoehorn one solution for the vast differences in the country is, well, idiotic. There isn't a single solution.

I think at the end of the day we will find that just about everything involving electric cars is subsidized by tax money.

The big question will be how committed the government is to feeding their connected friends and supporters that make money from EV. Cars don't have a constitutional protection like firearms, the government could simply outlaw and confiscate all non electric cars or order manufacturing stopped like incandescent light bulbs.

As far as ESG, that’s not a market driven by profit motive. It’s driven by ideologues.

I believe it will collapse because the battery is too large a portion of the value of the vehicle and will kill any resale value. Batteries are consumed by both time and use at a far accelerated rate compared to ICE, there will be little used market for a long time if ever.
