As for luxury brands, they appear to be struggling, as taking a closer look at them reveals much higher EV inventories than others. The Korean luxury brand Genesis, for example, sold only 18 of its nearly $82,000 G80 EVs in the 30 days leading up to June 29, and had 210 in stock nationwide, which comes to a 350-day supply, according to Cox Automotive’s research.

Other luxury brands — like Audi’s Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron and the GMC Hummer EV SUV — have substantial inventories well above 100 days. To add insult to the injury of a luxury EV’s high price tag, these vehicles are typically not eligible for federal tax credits.

While retail prices for used cars have not yet fallen substantially the wholesale prices have, particularly cars and worst of all sports cars.

The Armageddon of vehicle prices is just warming up.

Meanwhile we tried for 6 months to buy a Lexus hybrid NX. We could not get one even close to the equipment and colors my wife wanted. No special orders, dealer has to take what they send or get nothing. Finally went ahead and got a gas one. Dealer says they can build 16 gas cars with the microchips they need to build just one hybrid. Regardless she loves her new car (happy wife, happy life).

Gas prices will be the first way.

Then they will increase gas mileage requirements and apply the gas guzzler tax to more cars, increasing the amount of tax.
Yes, we're still in the "nudge" mode right now. Soon, they'll transition into the "shove" mode.

I really can’t see how Tesla will sell that ugly “Truck”. That thing is hideous.
All of the Tesla vehicles are hideous. Not to mention they all look pretty much the same, boring.

Oh, and the EV advocates will tell you they’re so much quicker than my gas powered Corvette. OK, yeah, maybe but only in a straight line, and until their charge level gets below a certain threshold. And those extra thousand pounds of batteries don’t help it handle very well in corners.

I think a lot of you are forgetting the feeling of pride and superiority that comes with owning an EV and pretending to save the planet. Can you really put a price on that?

A guy I worked with has a Tesla model 3 which I’ve ridden in. I don’t think it would out-handle your Corvette, but it handled pretty well around corners. It has a very low center of gravity. I don’t care for the looks, but I still think they’re cool, nevertheless. Still not cool enough to want to own one.
