Well, it looks as if the high sheriff in Quartzsite has a mutiny on his hands and the members of his PD are ratting him out, for all to see. Stewart Rhodes, of OathKeepers, is now involved, in his capacity as a lawyer on the side of the deposed mayor and reporter. Kudos to the cops in Quartzsite for refusing to follow their chiefs unConstitutional orders and shine some light on the crook.

And, as if things couldn't get worse, some of the cops who signed the above letter and some who apparently sympathised with them, are now suspended. Guess the state's not going to do squat about the coup. There are few solutions remaining to these people.

And this is why a lot of officers are afraid to stand up against other corrupt officers. They stood up, and now are all suspended with the investigation being done on them by, guess who, one of the corrupt town officials!

So far there has not been any great big uprising of concerned citizens. No riots in the streets, not even a few people gathered in front of the building protesting. Nada, nothing, zip. Oh wait, maybe one or two people complaining.

Here is a perfect time for them to do so and help those officers who stuck their neck out on the line for them as well as help themselves by ousting a corrupt police chief and city council.

feel a little sorry for the good people in Quartzite, only some as they elected/allowed to be elected these power-hungry pols. But this happens in some less blatant form in every city/town in the U.S. It is the curse of allowing professional politicians access to power and the people's money. It will only end when back-room deals are brought out into the open.

This has some resemblence to the "Fast and Furious" investigation. They are using the corrupt city official to do the investigating. With the "Fast and Furious" the Ispector General, who is part of the Justice Department is investigating the Justice Department!! You just know that it is going to be a negative report that is turned in!!!

There is going to be another hearing Tuesday July 26 at 10A.M. on "Fast and Furious". It is going to be carried on Cspan, I believe and the link below. Should be interesting to watch.

I would clarify the "good people" of Quartzite being the officers who are now suspended as well as the people of Quartzite who are actively trying to do something about what is going on.

I don't feel sorry for people who won't stand up for themselves. People aren't helpless. If enough of them banded together they could do something about their situation They have not done so yet and if they do not then they get what they deserve.

The only one's I "feel sorry for" is the few that did stand up as well as the officers who are probably going to lose their jobs for doing so.

I hadn't heard about it either. It was discussed in Unintended Consequences which can be found online. Great book. Another one I hadn't heard about was the MOVE incident in Philadelphia. You can wikipedia that one as well. Great story, and one that should be quoted more to show the value of the 2nd amendment.

MOVE has what to do with the 2nd Amendment?

Looks like a court issued a temporary order against the town saying they can't fire the ten police officers yet and the one's that got terminated needed to be rehired and put on paid administrative leave until an outside independent investigation is done.

It's on the mayors supporters facebook page:

If you don't have facebook here is the post:

    Good morning America.
The Superior Court of La Paz County responded to the complaint filed on Friday of last week with a temporary restraining order against the Town of Quartzsite. It states that those persons who have been terminated must be reinstated to paid administrative leave until an independent personnel board can properly hear the termination case. Sergeant Ponce and Linda Conley should be reinstated to paid administrative leave upon the delivery of the temporary restraining order which we provide a link to below.

There is a problem, however. It appears that the La Paz County Sheriff's department and other county officials are reluctant to expediently serve the Town of Quartzsite with this restraining order. We are hoping you will help encourage the County of La Paz to do their duty - do their job. If you feel there should be no delay in complying with the laws of the state of Arizona and our Nation, please contact these public officials and ask them to explain the delay in serving this temporary restraining order.

Members of the Quartzsite 10 are reporting that all appropriate documents have been served to the Town of Quartzsite by a private process server. Town officials should review and react to this service today. Many thanks for your efforts. We will have more for all of you, shortly.

Update as of 30 minutes ago:

Sergeant Ponce was, moments ago, escorted from Town Hall. Assistant town manager Al Johnson stated that Sergeant Ponce would not be reinstated as is required by the court order, and that Sergeant Ponce is terminated. It appears that the town of Quartzsite is choosing to disregard the order of the court

If they are going to disregard an order of the court, it appears they are lawless and some other law enforcement agency should be dispatched to enforce the court order.
