One of the more innocent ones... a tiny little thing that you light and it spins up in the air... actually did explode. Right on the ground, a HUGE bang and flash of white, very loud and startling.

On a more serious note, our 9 year old was being pretty quiet this afternoon. I went outside and found what she'd been up to for the last couple of hours. We had this mural painted on our front porch. Pretty well done! I'm willing to look past the very minor fact of 48 stars and 11 stripes. I'm so proud of her for doing this on her own!

No.
But I'm thinking about it.
I've looked online for some already made ones.
But don't really see that much.
I have found places that sell patterns though.
If I get caught up inside/outside the house, I may make some.
A guy from my Legion made some for outside the Post. I think it's a kneeling soldier.

The most patriotic picture I could think of. This photo was taken on September 12, 2001 in New York harbor. This is the USS George Washington whose airwing was flying combat air patrol over New York City. The smoke you see in the background is from the World Trade Center. A couple of NYC city commissioners decided to buck the no fly order and rent a small plane to get a bird's eye view of the damage. They were quickly shown the error of their judgement by the two F-14 Tomcats that intercepted them. We had enforced the no fly zone over Iraq so it was very surreal to be performing the same mission here in the U.S. Definitely an experience I will never forget.
