    Way Up North!!
We were talking about daily server maintenance an I was wondering if INGO had its own server room or if the site is hosted by someone else.
Can we actually visit INGO and does is it a room like that with Fenway's officer upstairs? :D

INGO is hosted at a datacenter in Florida. I've never been there. We have the whole server to ourselves, though. Eventually, we're going to be on three servers, but for now we're just on the one. But yes, the datacenter looks similar to the one in your pic. This is a picture of one of the rack rows. INGO is on one of these, but I couldn't tell you which one.

Here's a bird's eye view of one section of the datacenter:

Those grated floors look like an air curtain meaning that picture is more than likely a server farm.

Yes, datacenters are always on raised floors. Cable runs, power, and A/C all run both under the floor and (usually) overhead. Most datacenters do alternating hot and cold aisles these days. It's cheaper and more efficient.

that my friend is a server farm

The part of the datacenter where INGO resides is strictly webhosting by our provider. That's why it's all open-rack servers instead of locked cabinets. There are no racks in this section that have customer-provided co-located equipment. Most of the servers in the pic above will host hundreds of websites each. INGO needs one whole server all to itself.

They dont want you to mess everything up, you will probably touch everything and unplug a few wires. :):

So INGO fits in one of those small rack thingy? :dunno:
And the bigger it gets, the more threads and members it has, the bigger the server needs to be?

I thought that you would need a few racks like that to host HandK's posts alone. :D
