One of our dogs is funny. If you give her a rawhide bone, she wants to bury it. But there are only so many places she can hide a bone in the TV room. She will walk around for an hour worried about what to do with the bone. Then she will try to hide it in the back of my chair or between me and the recliner.

I don't know why she doesn't just eat it.???

    Does she look like this?

I guess I should go ask in a "serious" thread ...

Some dogs still have their built in instinct to bury bones because the marrow is a rich source of nutrition that can feed them later after they've eaten the meat. You might try a different treat that doesn't look like a bone. :twocents:

Yeah, when Daisy finished hiding her bone, she will look to see if anyone is watching her. If she thinks you saw her hide the bone, she will get it and try to hide it someplace else.

Found one in the cats litterbox a few days ago. That one went into the trash.

    Maybe I can help.

    Finally an adult! :D

I was wondering about ultrasonic dog whistles.
I saw that at the pet store today, I understand that it's to train dogs and such but im wondering what it does to the dog.
Like can it be used as a friendly way to keep angry dogs away from you as well? :dunno:
Instead of using pepper spray or a bullet.

No, I've never heard of it being used like that before. I have one I tried to use on my Border Collie and she didn't even act like she heard it. So it's not something that bring discomfort to the dog. I'm not an expert so you might want to confirm this with someone else.

Yeah I know there are stuff like that to keep dogs away, I wonder if ultrasonic whistles do the same thing.
A whistle is tiny and I thought I could keep one on my keychain for protection against dogs.
