We have estimates on siding and a roof. New front door/jamb and other extras are now in the mix. I am doing the furnace as well. I hope this will set me up for the home stretch.

Insurance bought me a new roof, siding and gutters a couple years back. This winter my project is the wood paneling. Getting rid of the couch in that room this weekend is step 1. The wife will be happy the process is starting.

Do you know what's behind the wood paneling? We got lucky and had drywall behind some of ours.

At least on 1 wall it is a big air void. The paneling has some sort of damage there and you can poke a hole in it with very little effort and there is nothing behind it. This room was an addition to the original house, so I'm guessing there is nothing behind it as it was put up when they built the addition, rather than added on after the drywall was already there.

When the 5" lap board siding gets stripped off the old garage now family room it will get an additional 3/4' blue board insulation and Tyvac vapor seal. Then vinyl to match the rest of the house. With the insulation already in place it should tighten the place up nicely.....:)
