Yeah lots of stank, hard metal, cramped, nothing soft, no privacy. Check, yep it's funny how all that is the same yet we were in so much different situations. I do miss all do the cool gear. Where else can a kid basicly grow up with the most expensive and best toys in the world and the coolest family on the block? Only in the U.S. Military.

And you get to break expensive pieces of **** :):

Funny that after high school all my friends were telling me all the "cool" stuff they were doing, and how they were being trusted to lean a machine that costs 30,000.

I was operating the nuclear reactor on a submarine. Not sure how much it costs, but subs are now around a billion a piece.
Throw in $250,000 for the nuke training program, the cost of the other sailors training, cost of keeping it seaworthy, food, parts......
We cost a LOT of money.

We did get to carry SEALs and let them do stuff.
And we did get to accidently sink our rescue ship, boy those sailors never forgave us.

    Imagine one of these

It's about a ton and going around 60 mph (estimated by Jane's ships, not real classified speed).
The explosives are gone, replaced with electronics.
It's supposed to "electronically" shoot your ship (the target), then power down and surface.
Except, the brain get's stuck in homing mode.
And it hits your unarmored boat.
    Makes a nice hole.
