We were never around family for the holidays. Now everyone is scattered to the winds. So I will work this Christmas so someone else doesn't have to. Hopefully there will be a football game on later in the day.

I'm sure. Everything that happens here is my husband's fault. We both agree on this daily. Today, it was his fault I overslept.

Just not many of us left standing. MIL is the only parent (mine & wifes) left. Only other sibling left my side living here is not feeling it this year. Life has kicked her in the jewels seriously hard. We are seeing Holidays with the MIL come to an end soon.
Traditions change with time.

As we get older these holidays do change. My dad is our only parent still around. Our kids are all in their mid 20s. Family lives to far to come out to spend holidays here. Siblings on both sides mostly just want us to give them $$ constantly. It's very sad nowadays.

I have 1 sibling (of 2) left standing that I will spend time with. My wifes side is a stellar group. Love most all of them.
