We discussed that. We also discussed that she needs to tell the manager at work that if he comes there, the manager should tell him to leave. If he does not, they should call the police and file a report since that would help towards getting a restraining order if needed.
We plan to write a letter to the landlord informing them of her intent to be completely out of the apartment within the next 30 days. She will pay half of the rent directly to the landlord for that month instead of giving it to him as she has in the past. When she has all of her stuff out, we will return her key to the landlord as well. She seemed agreeable to that plan, and I told her she really needs to do it that way to protect herself legally. They are on a month to month basis now since the lease was up in August so that should get her out of it without any problems. Then it is up to him to pay the full amount or move out.
