S&W called the morning and said they cannot replace Dad's 625-10 which cracked a frame because the frame is no longer in production.

They will offer me $1100 in credit against any gun in the catalog but that was one of Dad's favorite carry guns. I am not sure what to try and replace it with.
A lot of selections at that price.

That's a mean looking gun! But did you notice that the close up of the cylinder showed wear marks on it already? That is supposed to be a new gun, right?
it will be a new gun, they may have used one they have shot for the catalog pics...wouldn't bother me in any case because I will shoot the heck out of it
It just made me wonder about the durability of the rest of the coating too. I'm sure its a great gun. I just know I have revolvers that are pretty old with lots of rounds through them that don't look like that.
