    Wife is sore has hell, pulled something in her back while dealing with MIL and doing the Heimlich. MIL is still in hospital, aspirated a bunch of food in her lungs when she choked...

    Wife is a Dietician and works for a company that runs Nursing Homes and Assisted Living centers. Her employer requires her to be trained in First Aid and the Heimlich.

    It's a good thing, she knew exactly what to do and got MIL breathing just before the EMS arrived.

    You don't really, it just has to be coughed up bit by bit. and it will usually cause pneumonia. They are keeping her at the hospital and flooding her with antibiotics to try to prevent it.
