You know it.
They are the only company I really trust to build a set of headers that will work on my car.
And fit.
I had Dougs build me a set for a Y block B body Mopar years ago. They did a hell of a job. Ralphs did the rest of the quick detach exhaust.
For some reason I can end up with a car that's a freak and I can't buy off the shelf parts for them.
That's what I get for "Master Minding" my own projects I guess.
2 issues with my car.
1st...."X" frame. Tubes look way different.
2nd....Angle plug heads on a small block. The Merlin heads have raised exhaust ports.
So a standard set of perf heads would make for an easy purchase and install?
E-mail sent to Hooker.
Knowing Hooker... I'm betting they have to engineer a balanced pair from scratch. They were always "equal length" when possible.
Quality components go into making them for sure.
For what it's worth... Even if it takes a while I'm sure you made the right choice in having Hooker make them for you. My peace of mind and comfort level is worth more bucks to me.
I'm a cheap SOB when I can be but there's times spending extra puts a smile on my face.
You know it.

390 version 2.0
Just rattle canned the original shortblock from the car with a set of rebuilt heads, new lifters and timing chain set. Hopefully this will get the damned thing running and then I'll decide my next move.

I have had a lack of good white knuckle street racing this summer. Last victim was one of those little FZR things.
I think my exhaust might have made the young man wet himself.
So when I had a mustang every one wanted to run after I switch to MOPAR nothing?
All races are conducted in "Mexico"
Are you going to run the same cam? Inspect that bugger close. Cam bearings aren't in question with the replaced short block.
No the cam was damaged also, I wouldn't use another Comp product if they gave it to me anyway. The intent now is just get it running.
You will have to run in the new lifters.
